TransCanada Proposes Expansion of Gas Storage in Michigan
Bloomberg reports that TransCanada Corp. has announced that it is considering expanding its natural gas storage facilities in Michigan in order to capitalize on the rising demand for gas in the Midwest. A TransCanada vice president told the publication that increasing LNG imports also contribute to the need for storage. He said, “That supply is likely not to be arriving in a steady stream through the course of the calendar year, and that will also add to the need for storage to balance supply and demand.”
