Texas Environmental Commission and USCG Examine Freeport LNG’s Re-Export Plan
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has determined that emissions associated with Freeport LNG’s proposal to re-export imported LNG “will not exceed the emissions from the applicable state implementation plan.” The Commission’s determination is available under Docket No.CP03-75 in FERC’s eLibrary.
Separately, the U.S. Coast Guard has determined that the physical changes to the Freeport LNG terminal associated with the plan to re-export imported LNG do not constitute “new construction” and the “waterway impacts associated with export operations at the Freeport LNG terminal should not change or exceed those envisioned in the original Environmental Impact Statement, Environmental Assessment, and Waterway Suitability Assessment.” The Coast Guard’s determination also is available in the FERC eLibrary under Docket No. CP03-75.
