Suez Plans Florida LNG Terminal Because of Inactivity on Bahamas Project
Suez Energy North America has expressed interest in siting an LNG terminal in offshore Florida as an alternative to its proposal in the Bahamas, which is at a standstill. “We have not heard anything from the Bahamas in about a year,” said William P. Utt, chief executive officer. “We are continuing to try to engage in dialogue. But the government, for reasons I will leave to the government” has declined to issue permits for any prospective sites on the island, Utt said.
