State, Federal Legislation Could Affect Weaver’s Cove LNG Proposal
Lawmakers in the Rhode Island General Assembly have passed a bill requiring legislative and municipal approval for any emergency response plan regarding transportation of LNG in state waters, according to the Fall River (Mass.) Herald News.
Separately, South Coast Today reports that the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources has approved legislation that would designate portions of the Taunton River near the proposed Weaver’s Cove LNG terminal as “wild and scenic.”
