Senator Wyden Urges Caution on U.S. LNG Export Policy
The Oil & Gas Financial Journal reports that, in a recent interview, Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) stated that policymakers should move cautiously and should consider the environmental effects of hydraulic fracturing and domestic natural gas price implications when formulating U.S. LNG export policy. Wyden, soon to head the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, added that Congress was “in the dark” as to the criteria the U.S. Department of Energy would employ to evaluate LNG export applications.
