Secretary Chu Says DOE Will Consider U.S. Gas Prices in LNG Export Permit Decisions

Speaking yesterday in Houston, U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu said that the Department of Energy (DOE) will consider U.S. natural gas prices when deciding whether or not to approve LNG export applications, explaining that “[w]e have to consider what is in the best interests of the United States.” According to Platts LNG Daily, Sec.
