SeaOne Introduces New Onboard Liquefaction and Regasification Technology
Platts Gas Daily reports on new technology that liquefies natural gas at minus-40 degrees by adding propane and placing it under 1400 pounds of pressure. The new process allows the retention of 10% more gas and produces about the same emissions as the current liquefaction method. The chairman and CEO of SeaOne Maritime said the technology liquefies and regasifies natural gas onboard vessels, obviating the need to construct land-based facilities. [Subscription required]
