Proposed Pipeline Connecting Rockies Express to Northeastern Markets may Transport LNG from the Gulf

Tennessee Gas Pipeline and Equitable Resources announced yesterday that they are jointly pursuing the Northeast Passage Project, a gas pipeline proposed to connect the terminus of the Rockies Express Pipeline to markets in the northeastern United States. The pipeline is expected also to transport regasified LNG from terminals in the Gulf region to the Northeast. The two companies expect the 471-mile-long pipeline to begin operations in late 2011. Additionally, the open season for capacity on the pipeline began yesterday and will close on January 17, 2008. Read more in Platts LNG Daily. [Subscription required]
