Pipelines Competing for Northwest Market

Following the official announcement of the Palomar gas line in Oregon, the McMinnville News Register (Ore.) reports that two pipeline projects will likely compete for regulatory approval and market share. “I don’t think you’d see two [large gas line projects]. I don’t think the region would support that level of development,” said one Palomar representative. Oregon LNG, which has proposed a 117-mile gas line from its planned LNG terminal on the Columbia River to the existing West Coast main, has already filed preliminary documents with FERC.
