Petro-Canada: Cancellation of Gros Cacouna Terminal “Highly Unlikely”
Speaking to Platts LNG Daily, Petro-Canada spokesperson Andrew Pelletier said that it is “highly unlikely” that rising construction costs would halt development of the Gros Cacouna LNG terminal. Pelletier’s statement follows the recent comments of Petro-Canada CEO Ron Brenneman to Canada’s Financial Post that the project faces a delay and a possible redesign of the pier and jetty in order to lower the current $1 billion (CDN) cost estimate.
