Partner in Quebec Shale Gas Project Suggests Rabaska LNG Terminal May Supply U.S. Market
Speaking to the Montreal Gazette, the president of Junex Inc., a partner in the Utica shale gas project in Quebec, suggested that the recently announced discovery of 4 Tcf of potentially recoverable gas in the Utica field could mean that the Rabaska LNG terminal may be used to supply the U.S. gas market, as opposed to the Quebec market. A spokesperson for Quebec’s natural resources department said that the Utica find is “very significant for Quebec,” but cautioned that his department is awaiting further results from horizontal drilling.
