Osaka Gas to Consider Acquiring Regasification Rights in Freeport LNG
Osaka Gas, Japan’s second-largest city natural gas supplier, announced this week that it will stop all spot purchases of LNG in the April 2009-March 2010 fiscal year and will seek to increase its LNG equity production. In connection with this announcement, the company also indicated that it would consider acquiring regasification rights in the Freeport LNG import terminal, where it is already a 10% equity holder, as part of an investment plan to utilize its equity production volumes for spot trading.
