At a meeting in Knappa, Ore. with state Department of Environmental Quality staff, local residents expressed concern that the agency is not examining the potential cumulative impacts that proposed energy infrastructure along the Columbia River, including LNG terminals, may have on air and water quality. “Our ability to respond…is based on our resources,” one DEQ official told attendees. “Right now, my resources are for individual permits – not cumulative impacts.” The Daily Astorian provides further details.
