Op-ed: LNG to Relieve California’s Energy Predicament

Jesus Arredondo, the executive director of Californians for Clean Affordable Safe Energy responds to an allegation that state officials and energy companies promote LNG development without conducting comprehensive research. Arredondo points to a study commissioned by the organization indicating that, over the next ten years, the rising cost of natural gas will cost California 163,000 jobs and increase residential energy bills by 22%. Tapping into the numerous natural gas reserves abroad will help allay California’s supply shortage and reduce price volatility, he says. His op-ed is in today’s Ventura County Star.
