Nova Scotia to Challenge Proposed Brunswick Pipeline at Hearings

The Chronicle Herald reports that Nova Scotian officials will contest Emera Inc.’s proposed Brunswick Pipeline, which would pass through New Brunswick and connect the planned Canaport LNG terminal directly to the U.S. pipeline network. Nova Scotia Premier Rodney MacDonald and other officials are reportedly concerned that lower tolls on the Brunswick Pipeline could put two LNG terminals proposed for Nova Scotia at a competitive disadvantage.  Provincial Energy Department representatives plan to voice their concerns during hearings before the National Energy Board this afternoon in Saint John.
