New Vessels Keep Charter Rates Low

Platts LNG Daily reports that daily spot rates for LNG vessels are not expected to spike to the levels seen last winter, and instead will remain in the $60,000 range. This is the combined result of available new shipping capacity intended to serve liquefaction and regasification facilities that have suffered delays, as well as high product prices that prevent buyers from absorbing high transportation costs.
