New Jersey Governor Vetoes Liberty LNG Deepwater Port Proposal

Under authority granted by the Deepwater Port Act, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) notified the U.S. Maritime Administration yesterday that he would exercise his veto authority to prevent the construction of the Liberty LNG deepwater port project. According to Bloomberg, Gov. Christie cited public safety, economic, and environmental concerns as reasons for his opposition to the project.
