A columnist for Newsday criticizes opponents of Broadwater Energy’s proposed LNG terminal in Long Island Sound who protested during a recent public hearing, saying that they have failed to appreciate the project’s benefits for consumers and the local economy. In response, a Hauppauge, N.Y. resident writes in a letter to the editor that opposition to the project is justified because of potential security concerns.
