On Friday Maryland Attorney General Douglas Gansler filed suit in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland to challenge the U.S. Department of Commerce’s ruling on the state’s objection to the AES Sparrows Point LNG project. The complaint requests that the court reverse then-Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez’s decision to overrule Maryland’s determination that the project is inconsistent with the state’s federally approved Coastal Zone Management Plan.
