Maritimes & Northeast Terminates Bear Head LNG Transportation Contracts
In a Sept. 13 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Anadarko announced that Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline has terminated delivery arrangements that would allow Anadarko to ship up to 813,000 Mcf/d of natural gas from the proposed Bear Head LNG terminal in Nova Scotia to the U.S. Northeast. According to yesterday’s Platts LNG Daily, the pipeline sent a letter to Anadarko citing Anadarko’s difficulty in securing supply for the terminal as its reason for canceling the contract, but said it would revisit the agreement if LNG supply for the facility is found.
