Local Groups Opposed to Bradwood Landing Gas Pipeline Support Referendum

The Willamette Week (Ore.) reports that several local groups opposed to the gas pipeline associated with the proposed Bradwood Landing LNG facility — including the Northwest Property Rights Group, Columbia Riverkeeper, and the Columbia River Business Alliance — are seeking a referendum on an amendment passed by the Clatsop County commissioners. The amendment allows gas pipelines to transect parks, recreation sites, and other public areas in the county. Responding to criticism of the amendment, which accommodates the developer’s pipeline, a NorthernStar Natural Gas official said that the company is working with local stakeholders and landowners to finalize the pipeline route.
