LNG Developers Meet with Local Business Leaders
Representatives from Excelerate Energy and Suez North America, the developers of the Northeast Gateway deepwater port and the Neptune deepwater port, respectively, met yesterday with members of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce to discuss the anticipated economic impact of the two approved LNG projects. Excelerate vice president Jonathan Cook estimated that his company would inject $85 million into the local economy in the first 5 years of operating Northeast Gateway. Suez’s director of sales, Tom Lockett, claimed that just Neptune’s presence in the Gloucester Marine Terminal alone will add $10 million to the local economy over the next 20 years.
