Legislation Proposed in Miss. Senate to Repeal Gulf LNG Tax Allocation
The Mississippi Press reports that state Sen. Tommy Moffat (R) has proposed legislation that would repeal a law that provides for the allocation of future ad valorem tax revenue expected to be generated by the Gulf LNG terminal and other existing and expanding energy facilities in Pascagoula, Miss. Under the current law, passed in 2007, ad valorem taxes from these facilities will be divided among Pascagoula County’s four school districts, instead of distributed solely to the Pascagoula School District.
