Kitimat LNG Signs Agreement with Haisla First Nation

Today’s Vancouver Province reports that Kitimat LNG and the Haisla First Nation have signed an agreement to site a regasification terminal at Haisla Island. Galveston LNG, which owns the Kitimat LNG Terminal, hopes to clear regulatory hurdles and begin construction in the spring. “The Haisla acknowledge the openness Kitimat LNG has shown throughout the EA process to take Haisla interests into consideration. Our community has much to offer the project and will gain significantly from the opportunities it will afford our residents,” says Haisla Chief Steve Wilson. The article is available at the Kitimat LNG website.
