Kenai LNG Export Plant Impacted by Gas Supply Constraints During Peak Demand Periods
Panelists at a recent event convened by the Alaska Energy Authority discussed issues surrounding supply constraints facing southcentral Alaska during peak gas demand periods. Tony Izzo, a former manager of Enstar, recounted a day in January 2007 when gas supply to the Kenai LNG export plant was cut by 35 percent to cover local peak demand. In the past, peak demand had been met by increasing production in the field, but deliverability has reportedly been impacted by aging wells. The Alaska Journal of Commerce provides further details.
