Kelliher: Connecticut Has “Important Role” to Play in FERC’s Review of Broadwater
In a letter dated yesterday, FERC Chairman Joseph Kelliher addressed Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell’s concern that the state will have little influence in the Commission’s review of Broadwater Energy’s LNG terminal proposed for Long Island Sound. “I assure you that Connecticut has an important role in our review of this project, and encourage you and the state agencies under your authority to participate fully in the staff’s preparation of a Final Environmental Impact Statement,” Kelliher said. Additionally, the Commission is planning to hold two public meetings early next year in Connecticut to discuss the draft environmental impact statement. The Day provides further coverage.
