Jordan Cove Pipeline Route to Be Revealed in January; Local Businesses Concerned About Potential Impact
Williams Pipeline representatives announced last week that the route for the proposed pipeline associated with the Jordan Cove LNG terminal would be revealed in January; company representatives have been meeting with timber and oyster growers regarding land needed for the route. According to The World, growers remain concerned that the pipeline may impact their businesses: “I think LNG’s a good idea for the area, but I don’t want to be taken out of business by it,” said one. Williams Pipeline Project Manager Steve Potts told oyster growers that they will be compensated for any losses incurred, but that the compensation formula will be determined in January.
