Gaz Métro President: Eastern Canadian Gas Market Can Support One LNG Terminal, Not Two
Sophie Brochu, president of Gaz Métro, told the Montreal Gazette that there is enough room in the eastern Canadian gas market for only one LNG terminal, not two, as currently proposed. Brochu said that the market’s demand for natural gas and pipeline capacity are not sufficient to support both the Rabaska terminal, proposed by Gaz Métro, Enbridge, Inc., and Gaz de France, and the Gros Cacouna terminal, which has already received regulatory approval.
