Further Details Released on Alaska LNG Agreement
The Anchorage Daily News offers additional details on the agreement between Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) and the owners of the Kenai LNG liquefaction plant, ConocoPhillips and Marathon Oil. The Daily News reports that the agreement includes commitments to develop natural gas reserves and opportunities for third parties to sell natural gas to the plant, in exchange for the state’s support of the firms’ application to extend their LNG export license. Marathon also agreed to drill five new gas wells over the next year in an effort to provide additional supply to the facility.
