Freeport Files LNG Export Facilities Application at FERC
Freeport LNG Development and affiliates (Freeport) filed an application to construct and operate natural gas liquefaction and export facilities at and adjacent to their existing Quintana Island LNG Terminal in Brazoria County, Texas. Freeport proposes to construct three liquefaction trains, each capable of producing a nominal 4.4 million metric tonnes of LNG per annum (mtpa), for a total export capacity of 13.2 mtpa. Freeport also proposes to construct natural gas pretreatment facilities to be located approximately 2.5 miles north of the Terminal, several interconnecting pipelines and utility lines, and related structures.
