First Nations Offered Equity Position in Pipeline Associated with Kitimat LNG Project
The Government of British Columbia announced that several of Canada’s First Nations have agreed to take an equity position in the Pacific Trail Pipelines Partnership, the company developing a natural gas pipeline designed to transport gas for export via the Kitimat LNG liquefaction project. The agreement with the First Nations includes a $3 million payment as an incentive for ratification and $32 million to purchase an equity stake in the company.
