FERC Seeks Comments from Canadian Agencies

Although the comment period has ended for both the Quoddy Bay and Downeast LNG projects in Maine, FERC is soliciting comments from seven Canadian agencies on local issues raised by the proposals. In a letter dated June 19, the Commission asked the agencies to comment on the projects’ impact on local waterways, aquatic life, Canadian tourism, and other areas. FERC plans to incorporate the comments in the draft environmental impact statements for each project. The letters may be found in the FERC e-Library in the Quoddy Bay and Downeast LNG Dockets, Nos. PF06-11 and PF06-13.
