FERC issued an order today dismissing The Gas Company, LLC’s (GasCo) application to import and vaporize LNG transported from the continental United States for distribution to end-use customers in Hawaii. FERC ruled that GasCo’s proposed facilities do not constitute an LNG terminal under Natural Gas Act (NGA) section 3, and that its proposed facilities and operations are exempt from FERC jurisdiction under NGA sections 1(b) or 1(c).
