Fall River’s Spending to Oppose Weaver’s Cove LNG Project Tops $2 Million
The City Council of Fall River, Mass., appropriated $210K in additional funds to oppose the Weaver’s Cove LNG import project at a public meeting Tuesday evening, bringing the town’s total related expenditures to over $2 million. The Fall River Herald News reports that at least one council member expressed concern that the town may be paying a disproportionate amount of the costs to oppose the project compared to other nearby communities.
