Exploratory Project for Pacific Pipeline Connector Postponed
As part of its efforts to determine the feasibility of an underwater natural gas pipeline, developer Williams Pipeline Company plans to start collecting boring samples on Dec. 12 from a portion of the Coos Bay estuary that is outside the city limits of Coos Bay. According to The World, the company originally planned to begin the work in mid-November, but had trouble acquiring a waterfront staging area. Williams may not obtain estuary samples from lands owned by the city until the Coos Bay Planning Commission resolves an appeal set for hearing on Dec 12. The underwater pipeline is part of the Pacific Pipeline Connector, which would transport supply from the proposed Jordan Cove LNG terminal.
