Freeport LNG Pushes Back In-Service Date to Sept. 2019
Reuters reports that Freeport LNG has pushed back the projected start date for its $13 billion LNG export terminal under construction on Quintana Island, Texas, by about nine months to around September 1, 2019. Freeport LNG announced that the first liquefaction train is now expected to enter service around September 1, 2019, with the second and third trains expected in service around January 1 and May 1, 2020, respectively. The reasons for the delay were undetermined at this point and under investigation according to a Freeport LNG spokesman.
