State of Alaska May Increase Stake in Alaska LNG Project
KTOO reports that Alaska Governor Bill Walker’s administration is considering increasing Alaska’s stake in the Alaska LNG Project or taking over ownership completely. Currently, the state owns 25% of the project through the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation. BP Alaska LNG LLC, ConocoPhillips Alaska LNG Company, and ExxonMobil Alaska LNG LLC, are the other sponsors of the project. The report states that the administration is in talks with the other owners because they “have indicated they may not be ready to move the project forward next year as planned, as low oil prices have cut into their bottom lines.”
