Sabine Pass LNG Supplies Headed to Portugal

The Wall Street Journal [subscription] reports that a cargo of LNG from Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG export terminal in Cameron Parish, La. is headed for the Port of Sines, Portugal and is expected to arrive on April 26, 2016. The cargo is the first shipment of LNG from the United States to Europe and, according to the report, U.S. LNG supplies could compete with natural gas supplies delivered by pipeline from Russia in the European market.
