CE FLNG Requests Continuation of FERC Pre-Filing Review Status
CE FLNG, LLC (CE FLNG), an affiliate of Cambridge Energy Group Limited, has submitted a response to FERC’s letter directing FLNG to submit by August 1, 2015, draft resource reports in support of its proposed self-propelled floating LNG export terminal on the Mississippi River near Baptiste Collette Bayou in Plaquemines Parish, La. FERC stated that unless the reports were filed by that date, FERC would suspend the pre-filing process for the project, in which case CE FLNG would need to begin the pre-filing process anew if it wanted to move forward with the project. CE FLNG responded that FERC’s proposed action was not within any federal statute and requested that FERC hold the proposal in the pre-filing process to permit CE FLNG to submit updated draft resources reports by May 1, 2016. CE FLNG stated that it “has binding agreements in place to export LNG to countries that have existing Free Trade Agreements with the United States” and that it “has reached an agreement for [project] financing and is working to satisfy the conditions for financial close.” CE FLNG’s response can be found here, and the complete docket for the CE FLNG project can be found on eLibrary under Docket No. PF13-11.
