DOE Authorizes Sabine Pass to Export Additional LNG Volumes to FTA Nations
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has authorized Sabine Pass Liquefaction (SPL) to export an additional 203 Bcf/year over 25 years from its LNG export terminal under construction in Cameron Parish, La. to nations with a Free Trade Agreement with the United States (FTA nations). The additional volumes represent the difference between the initial design capacity and the maximum LNG production capacity of liquefaction Trains 1 through 4 at the terminal. SPL is now authorized to export 1,509.3 Bcf/year on a long-term basis to FTA nations.
