FERC has issued an order denying Sierra Club and Galveston Baykeeper’s rehearing request of FERC’s order authorizing construction of the Freeport LNG export terminal near Quintana Island, Brazoria County, Texas. FERC’s order on rehearing denied arguments that, among others things, FERC’s authorization order (1) should have considered induced natural gas production as an indirect effect of the Freeport LNG Projects, and (2) should have considered the cumulative impacts of existing and proposed LNG export projects.
