Haisla Nation Files LNG Export Applications with the Canadian National Energy Board
The Haisla Nation has filed three separate applications with the Canadian National Energy Board for authority to export LNG to Asian markets. The applicants, Cedar 1 LNG Export Ltd., Cedar 2 LNG Export Ltd., and Cedar 3 LNG Export Ltd., are subsidiaries of Cedar LNG Export Development Ltd., an LNG export development company owned by the Haisla Nation. The quantity of LNG to be exported under each of the Haisla applications may vary as each application will represent a separate project with independent participants and commercial arrangements. The LNG will be exported from proposed floating liquefaction facilities located within the Northern Douglas Channel, near Kitimat, British Columbia. The Cedar 3 LNG Export application, which seeks authority to export 284 Bcf/year, can be found here. The other applications were not publicly available at press time.
