DOE to Process Alaska LNG Export Application Expeditiously
The Alaska Journal of Commerce reports the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Moniz recently stated that DOE will process Alaska LNG’s export application on a streamlined basis, given that DOE’s public interest determination for the proposal largely will be a formality since the export of Alaskan LNG will not affect gas markets in the lower-48 states. The report states that DOE will follow its suspended practice and grant Alaska LNG an export license conditioned upon satisfactory completion of an environmental review of its proposed export facility.
