Canadian National Energy Board Issues Gas Export Licenses to Aurora LNG and Oregon LNG Marketing
Yesterday, the Canadian National Energy Board issued Aurora Liquefied Natural Gas Ltd. (Aurora LNG) and Oregon LNG Marketing, LLC (Oregon LNG) 25-year licenses to export LNG. Aurora LNG was authorized to export an annual volume of 24 million tonnes (3.11 Bcf/day) of LNG from a proposed LNG terminal near Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Oregon LNG was authorized to export 473 Bcf/year (1.3 Bcf/day) of natural gas to the United States via existing pipelines for delivery to Oregon LNG’s export terminal near Warrenton, Ore. where the gas would be liquefied and then exported as LNG. According to the press release, both licenses are subject to the approval of the Governor in Council.
