Several environmental groups, including Sierra Club, sent a letter to President Obama asking him to “demand” that FERC prepare an environmental impact statement for the Dominion Cove Point LNG export terminal project, rather than the less comprehensive environmental assessment that FERC is preparing. The letter also requests that the President “reverse course” on his support for hydraulic fracturing and the construction of U.S. LNG export terminals. Instead, the letter requests that the President increase efforts to improve energy efficiency and expand wind and solar power.
