Louisiana LNG Energy Files for DOE FTA LNG Export Authority
Louisiana LNG Energy LLC (LLNG) has filed an application with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to export up to two million metric tons per year of LNG from a proposed terminal on the Mississippi River, south of New Orleans in Plaquemines Parish, La. LLNG requests authority to export the LNG for a 25-year period to nations having a free trade agreement (FTA) with the United States requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas. LLNG states that it expects to initiate the FERC pre-filing environmental review process for construction of the terminal in May 2014.
