B.C. to Study Air Quality Impacts of Proposed Kitimat LNG Projects
The Canadian Press reports that the British Columbia government will fund a study of the cumulative effects of air emissions from existing and proposed industrial developments, including three proposed LNG terminals, in the Kitimat area. The study will focus on sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide emissions, and a final report will be due to the government by March 31, 2014. The study will be used to inform environmental assessment work and regulatory decisions for LNG and other industrial proponents in Kitimat and other airsheds where clusters of LNG export facilities are being proposed.
