The Industrial Energy Consumers of America (IECA), representing leading manufacturing companies, filed comments with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) requesting that DOE establish more appropriate and reliable standards for reviewing LNG export applications. IECA’s comments echo those recently filed by America’s Energy Advantage, calling the analyses employed by DOE in recent LNG export orders neither adequate, appropriate nor sustainable, because the analyses were based on outdated gas import policy and do not address the unique and complex public interest concerns involved with gas exports.
