Joining TPP Could Ease Japan’s Access to U.S. LNG Supplies
An article in The Japan Times states that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe favors Japan entering into Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade negotiations with the United States. The Trans-Pacific agreement currently being negotiated would govern trade relations among eleven nations in Asia and the Americas. According to the article, joining the TPP talks could ease Japan’s access to U.S. LNG supplies if the resulting accord is approved by Congress and includes free-trade agreement status for the participant nations.
