Centrica Contracts for Sabine Pass LNG Supplies – Cheniere Files Full Contract
British energy company Centrica plc announced that it has signed a contract with Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P., to purchase 89 Bcf (approximately 1.75 million metric tons) per year of LNG from the Sabine Pass liquefaction plant in Cameron Parish, La. The contract is for an initial 20 year period with the purchase price indexed to the Henry Hub natural gas price plus a fixed component. Centrica will purchase the LNG on a “Free on Board” (FOB) basis, giving it destination rights for the cargoes. As it has done in the past, Cheniere filed a complete copy of the contract with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
